A day-long event exploring the history – through personal accounts – and the influence and impact of Inter-Action, the innovative and influential community arts-based organisation, based in Camden from 1968 until the mid-1980s. 11.00 -11.30 Tea and coffee. Welcome by Dr Cathy Crawford, Chair of Kentish Town Community Centre
11.30 – 1.00 Panel 1, looking at the history of Inter-Action, sharing recollections of its work and impact at the time locally
1.00 – 2.00 Lunch – cost £5
2.00 – 3.30 Panel 2, exploring the influence of the Inter-Action experience on subsequent work both through its models of practice and the later careers of the individuals involved
3.30 – 5.00 Discussion and viewing rare archive material

Speakers include Inter-Action alumni David Powell, Dr Mo Throp, Patrick Barlow, Garry Brooking, along with Sara Newman of Many Cultures, One Community. Panels will be moderated by Dr Susan Croft, Director, Unfinished Histories. ED Berman MBE, founder of Inter-Action, will also be speaking

Opportunity to view Re-Staging Revolutions: Alternative Theatre in Lambeth and Camden 1968-88, Unfinished Histories Heritage Lottery-funded exhibition which runs at Kentish Town Community Centre till 10th January (and opens at Camden Archives on 10th February)
Event is free but in the spirit of Inter-Action’s Almost-Free Theatre we would welcome you to pay what you can afford/ think is reasonable charge. If you book and are then unable to attend, please cancel your booking so others who want to attend are not turned away.
