Up Your Street Issue 6

Sat 7th Feb free 10-5pm William Morris Gallery’s Yinka Shonibare exhibition (until June. Open Weds-Sat). All to do with colonialism. I went along to be part of the photographic exhibition: Yinka forgot to call me back!

Mon 9th Feb £4 7.30pm Spark at The Attic, Hackney Picture House. An open-mike evening of entertainment where people can tell a true story for 5 mins or less and the next one is all about your first love. Bar, company, warmth.

Tues 1oth Feb      free  1-3pm Doodle Club at St Joseph’s Hospice. Drawing and making for any adult of any artistic experience. Absolutely lovely and welcoming. Many other free and cheap drop-in clubs at Finding Spaces in the Hospice.  

 

Wed 11th Feb £3 POSH Club at St Pauls Church in Amhurst Rd, Hackney, Upper Hackney even. Phone for a place. Very popular.

 

Thurs 12th Feb free  Hackney Museum launches a celebration of its 50 years.   noon-1.30pm Mary Katherine at East London Radio (online) presents her cultural magazine show and interviews “Rooms of Our Own” from E17. *************************************************************************************end
