When entering the ticket ballot scheme seniors could get a discounted concessionary rate to see the events at The Paralympics Games , those Games which should run PARALLEL to the Olympic ones. Now assuming that proof of concessionary rate will be required then it should be by reciprocation the responsibility of the ticket allocators to make sure seniors don’t have to climb up to the “gods “. In other words they should be allocated seats near ground level or given the choice of sitting on terra firma.
At the Opening Ceremony rehearsal (Reel Olympics) then octagenarians were panting their way in 30 degree heat to the top tiers of the stadium, and at least two seniors in my section fainted. One was out for 30 minutes and looked like a gonner. It isn’t as high or as steep and narrow as the gods in O2.
Settling down to watch the closing ceremony on BBC 1 later tonight and ready to see how aged pop stars do their thung. Ugh. The camera work will be clever, BBC 1 see!
